Katherine Smyth, R.Ac

Kat is a licensed acupuncturist with the CTCMA, Dip. Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine,  BSc. Osteopathy, Dip. counselling and personal trainer.

Kat started in the health industry over 20 years ago. She grew up in Toronto and from a young age was interested in health and helping people. She taught first aid for 5 years while in high school.  While in collage she worked in a nursing home helping families give extra care to their loved ones.  Kat Graduated from Durham Collage in 2004 with her diploma in Counselling.

After Graduating she moved out west to beautiful Vancouver.   In 2006 she went back to school and studied health science at SFU.  Continuing on with her education she started an intensive 5 years program in Doctor of traditional Chinese Medicine.  She graduated with her Dip. of Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2011 from Pacific Collage of Holistic Medicine. In 2013 She became a Licence Acupuncturist with the CTCMA of British Columbia.

Kat is always looking for new things to learn and upgrading her educations.  Kat just recently graduated in June 2017 from National University of Medical Science with a bachelors of Science in Osteopathy.  Manual Osteopathy offers modalities in Myofascial, Mobilization technique, muscle energy, cranial osteopath and sacral therapy and visceral manipulation.

Kat has over 13 yrs experience as a personal trainer.  Starting in the health and fitness industry in 2003, she has had the opportunity to trainer with some of the top athletes, coaches and trainers in Vancouver. Kat specialized in postural, corrective, functional and mobility type exercises.  Kat has also extensively studied yoga and did her yoga teacher training in Tibetan heart yoga in 2006. 

Kat uses a variety of therapies such as acupuncture, cupping, Gui sha, tui na (Chinese massage), Myofascial, mobilization technique, muscle energy, cranial osteopath and sacral therapy and visceral manipulation, functional corrective exercise, stretching and mobility movements, yoga and meditation. 

Kat specializes in her practice in sports medicine and performance, pain management and injury prevention, orthopedics, obstetric and gynaecology, infertility, chronic disease and immune disorders, Headaches and Migraines, Hormonal balancing,  anxiety, depression and stress management.
